Glooming lights II

This drawing is a continuation of the billboard work “Glooming Lights“, which is about a law in New Zealand which banned young people from ever smoking. The size of the drawing paper used allows me to quote the entire article and a very large number of reader comments. As a final, newly added part of the work, I link the individual comments with the source to which they refer. This creates a complex communication network of sender, addressee and artist.

Diese Zeichnung ist eine Fortsetzung der Billboard Arbeit „Glooming Lights“, in der es um ein Gesetz für ein lebenslanges Rauchverbot für Jugendliche in Neuseeland geht. Die Größe des verwendeten Zeichenpapieres ermöglicht es mir, den gesamten Artikel und eine sehr große Anzahl an Leserkommentaren zu zitieren. Als letzten, neu hinzugefügten Schritt verbinde ich die einzelnen Kommentare mit ihrer Quelle, auf die sie Bezug nehmen. So entseht ein komplexes Kommuikationsgeflecht aus Absender, Adressat und Künstler.
